13,2 meter radiotelescope

The 13.2m radio telescope is dedicated to geodetic observations within the VGOS and EU-VGOS program.

It is equipped with a dual-polarization 3-to-14 GHz wideband cryogenic receiver, a simultaneous signal detection system for 8 bands of 1 GHz bandwidth and two high speed data recorders. It also has a phase calibration system, and a cable delay measurement system (CDMS). The receiver and the frequency down-converter has been designed and built in the laboratories of the Yebes Observatory. The phase calibration and CDMS system are based on a design by the Haystack Observatory (USA). This design was improved and manufactured in our laboratories.

The radio telescope control system, as well as the programs for the first single dish data reduction, have been designed and developed by Observatory personnel.

Two monitored hydrogen masters and two GPS receivers provide the frequency reference.
